Nature Education and Environment Development School – Gujarat, which is popularly known as ‘NEEDS’ is a registered public charitable trust registered under Bombay public trust Act 1950.
The organization works under the core group of seven trustees and well wishers who come from different discipline but are committed to the cause.

Objectives of the organization:

• To inculcate environment awareness and the problems of protecting it.
• To impart the basic knowledge and understanding of the immediate surrounding interrelationship and interdependence with human beings.
• To introduce every participant to the joy of living with nature.
• To develop a sense of appreciation for all living things and to sensitize the participants towards the urgent need of planning for sustainable development.
• To introduce the participants into the basic elements of nature through adventure activities.
• To help develop self-learning approaches through different innovative activities and realize that “learning is fun”.
• To encourage integrated education from the pre primary stage.
• Empowering parents for children’s educational development and growth.
• Providing opportunities for development and studies for children.
• To develop creativity and team work in children.
• Awareness and preventive measures for Health and Hygiene. (Community population with focus on women and children)
• To empower women and uneducated, illiterate youth for economic self-sustenance. (Economically weak women, girls & youth).

We as an NGO working in this field of environment education, nature education camps, eco tours and outbound training programmes, programme towards watershed management and wasteland development, programme related to women and children upliftment, awareness programmes towards the use of non-conventional energy sources and construction of “smokeless Chula”. Since last 15 years.

The resource persons are highly qualified and experienced in the field of environment and wildlife and hence the students get maximum exposure.

NEEDS which started way back in 1997 by like minded people with an urge to do some thing for mother earth; fascinated them to know more about bird, mammals, reptiles, insects, plants and how the smallest creature survived on earth.
The group always was ready to share their knowledge with others, and bring the people & in particular the students close to nature.
The group started sharing their knowledge with students and taking them on outings to very uncommon places mainly forest & sanctuaries.
It did not take even a year to establish and were known as a specialized group for conducting nature education camps, eco tours, day outings, nature trails etc. The camps became more popular with the students and developed a huge group inclined towards nature, with every camp becoming learning for us too; we came up with more innovativeness in each programme.
